Dr. Arvind Singh leads the structural heart programme at Apollo CVHF, bringing to Ahmedabad a level of specialist expertise in transcatheter valve therapy and congenital heart intervention that is rare outside India's largest metro centres.
His training includes a DM in Cardiology from KEM Hospital, Mumbai , one of India's foremost cardiology programmes, followed by a fellowship at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan under Professor Francesco Maisano, one of the world's leading figures in structural heart disease and a pioneer of MitraClip therapy. This international training, combined with a clinical practice that has exceeded 10,000 structural heart procedures, places Dr. Singh among a small group of structural heart specialists in India with this depth of experience.
His structural heart work includes TAVI for severe aortic stenosis valve replacement without opening the chest, and MitraClip for patients with mitral regurgitation who are not suitable for surgery. He also performs balloon valvuloplasty for mitral and pulmonary valve stenosis, and device closure of congenital defects, including ASD, VSD, and patent ductus arteriosus.
Dr. Singh's paediatric cardiology background adds an important dimension to the practice; he manages congenital heart disease in both children and adults, including those in whom a congenital abnormality was not diagnosed in childhood.
